Ben focuses on United States and International patent prosecution in the areas of
software, business methods, and consumer products. Ben also provides trademark
and copyright services and counseling.
In addition to his intellectual property focus, Ben provides commercial law services
to his Illinois clients, including partnership agreements, articles of incorporation,
nondisclosure agreements, intellectual property license agreements, and Uniform
Commercial Code filings.
Before starting his own practice, Ben was a patent agent with Hanley, Flight, and
Zimmerman LLC, where he provided technical consulting and counseling on a
variety of patent law issues.
Prior to practicing law, Ben designed and developed web-based software for a
number of companies, including Mac Publishing LLC, Morgan Stanley, and Land
O'Lakes, Inc. In addition to his experience as a software engineer, Ben is an IBM
Certified Solutions Developer for XML and Related Technologies and a Sun
Microsystems Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform.
